Luke Slater may have copied or better still been influenced by a couple of contemporaries BUT he took it further imho... If it was good enough to be included in the mix by Joey Beltram back in the day...Then.... There you have it..There it is!..... Stomping cold hard rocker from Brighton UK.... P.s. I think there is another track that was influenced indirectly by Luke...And Joey Beltram included it in his Kiss FM mix 1990... It was Italian...And it was tough! ;) https://discogs.mejorapp.org/Digital-Boy-Techno-Beat/release/99423 -

Way ahead of it's time, I have heard this masterpiece at the beginning of a DJ set in the Parisian club "La Locomotive" (mid 1991).
I had the feeling of a fast and aggressive new beat track. It was in fact European techno in it's rawest form made by the forthcoming legend Luke Slater.
Of course the track is clearly inspired by the1989 early Jeff Mills project : Final Cut "I Told You Not To Stop". Using the same rhythmic loop throughout the track.
It is also inspired by the synth reece and hi hats of Cybersonik "Teknarchy" and F.U.S.E. "Technotropic".

What a wicked piece of early Luke Slater Techno we have here - two simply
slammin mixes of 'The Pounder'.
Side A is the heavier driving & grindy analogue bangin mix which just keeps
kicking & winding in and out of wicked bass-heavy layered 909 drum patterns.
Side AA is slightly stripped down version, which highlights the fat analogue
synth very well but adds some almost sinister synths for extra atmosphere.
Not much released like this EP for another year or so - could almost be on
Dutch/Belgian labels in '92 and not be out of place - far ahead of it's time.
The analogue grinder is sampled in 'Locked In Madness' by The Future on
Music Man [MMI 9049].
