McCarthy And Fischer

Fred Fisher (1875–1942) was a German-born American songwriter who founded the Fred Fischer Music Publishing Company in 1907. During World War I he changed his surname to Fisher to make it seem less Germanic. In about 1915 McCarthy and Fischer became the company name and then later McCarthy & Fisher.
Since catalog searches do not show any items after 1919, one must presume that the firm was bought by another company, possibly Leo Feist, in 1920.
