Right Said Fred – I'm Too Sexy

One of the first cassette singles I ever bought, and to this day one of the strangest track listings I've ever seen on that format for ANY artist.

First, putting the Catwalk Mix on the A-side was a bizarre choice...definitely went against the norm of putting the single version of the song on the A-side. I'm sure 99.9% of consumers only listened to the first 10-20 seconds, wondered "what the hell is this?!", then promptly fast-forwarded the tape to the end, flipped it, hit play, and likely never played the A-side again.

Second, repeating the 7" version twice was also odd. I get that it was to fill up that side of the tape given the huge timing difference between the two versions, but why not just use the Instrumental or Spanish version for that purpose?

The Canadian cassette single was the only release to do it this way.

We all know this is the greatest dance track of all time, never fails to get everyone shaking their tush on the floor!

I have the same release but on the A side it says only "I'm too sexy" without (Betty's Mix)

For me, this is dance year zero. The first 12 I bought still makes me want to dance... which is surely the point of dance music!!! Let's all have a dance together. It'll be sweet. No touching. Post Brexit, this is important shit on the street!!!!
