Red Garland – Soultrane

Bought a NM copy in Japan in 2023. It sound absolutely incredible. Full sound in every respect...and loud!

Label says Stereo but it is a Mono! Sonicially very beautiful - a good way to Go

I love that Prestige spent the time and money on redeg the sleeve and labels to reflect that this reissue was supposed to be a new stereo version, but Van Gelder clearly cut it in mono like the original anyway and just never said anything. And I’m very glad he did. The sound speaks for itself.

Overall, it sounds good. John Coltrane's horn sound and trio sessions' instrumental sounds are amazingly clean. If only the saxophone sounds from Coltrane were more impactful.

My version to go! Flawless, natural, "band in the room" experience! I want nothing more in sound when listening to this album!
My first DCC CD and so impressive! I didn't have a chance to compare directly with vinyl, but I had the LP from Analogue Productions two years ago, and I I was not so impressed, though it was also very good.

Not to be mistaken with the rebooted Craft OJC series, this is from the “original” OJC series which was originally created to provide budget represses of classic jazz albums.
The source for this is unclear - possibly digital- but nonetheless this is a pretty decent sounding pressing which finds this listener happy with his purchase.
No defects with the vinyl and a nice sound.

Ditto. Distortion yes sounds like it’s slamming into the top of the mic pre’s. Or just hot. As he road the fades for a live mix I doubt it’s the mix distorting. Sounds like it’s pre fader. And on track 1 is there for sure. Same o. All my digital streams and rips as well.

My copy is flawless. It sounds amazing. Such quality involved here. I feel lucky that I am able to get my hands on a lot of these great Analogue Productions reissues.
