Careless remastering (if there was any...no credit is made to who is responsible on the inner or outer sleeve, or on the labels) and poor manufacturing have resulted in a shoddy reissue that pays no real tribute to its source material. The vinyl is warped, more than just a little bit, and slightly dished. These physical distortions can be heard in pitch changes on "How Will I Know", the first track on side B. Distracting sibilance sets in halfway through track 2 of side B and remains present for the rest of the record. The level is low, requiring a 4dB boost on my preamp to match what comes from records old and new in my collection. Midrange sounds kind of recessed and the low end is wimpy--dynamic this record is not. On the plus side, the packaging is very nice and the special edition extras are appreciated, although the ad card for perfume is in my opinion an offensive attempt at revenue generation. It's apparent that the time and effort and money for this reissue went towards looks rather than substance. It unfortunately is emblematic of the late stages of Whitney Houston's career and life, where the music took a back seat to the drama and distractions resulting from many years of her own poor choices and the actions of people around her. What a shameful effort this and I imagine the other reissues are.

i have an ARC pressing with no barcode, where is the listing

The info about pressing country above ("") is incorrect, but is actually incorrect even on the record. On the sleeve it says "Western ", a country that has never existed. The English language name of the country was "West ".

Any idea why the SACD is not listed on MOFI's website anymore, even a"sold out"?

This record is the total package: hits that will endure forever, sung by one of the greatest voices we’ll ever hear, pressing nearly perfectly on audiophile-grade vinyl. True 5 star release!! If anyone knows more about this ‘80’s brown vinyl, drop a comment! I have several, all from the first half of the ‘80’s, some MoFi, some promos and this standard pressing, and they all sound amazing!!
