I really hope they do more 7" sets like this. Would be really cool to have the singles featured in these comps back in print as a box set. ( maybe like redoing the 2LP sets to have reissues of the 7"s ? )

i don't totally understand the bizarros/rcr 7" because it was never an actual 7", but still cool.

Really great compilation! You could see how bands with this sort of sound could have given birth to more well known bands like Black Flag and The Minutemen. The opening riff from DISINTIGRATION sounds a lot like Jealous Again, and No Nonsense sounds a lot like The Minutemen's style. It could be that a lot of bands just sounded alike in this era though. Great snapshot punk, new wave and a bit of psychadelic punk (Bizarros).

My only qualm is that Bizarros single though. Mine is warped on Side A but thankfully is more listenable with a clamp. Also, I don't think it was ever an actual single, and they just pulled the last songs from the full-length split "From Akron", and it seems like that isn't too hard to come by. Great songs, don't get me wrong, but with Soul Jazz's seemingly endless vaults, I think they could've dug up something better or more rare.

The Flesh Eaters and Hollywood Squares singles are amazing, and the originals seem to sell for a ton! The Scabs EP is also some great early UK punk.

Great punk compilation capturing the period between first wave and hardcore punk, already with lyrical mentions about how punk is dead! I hadn't heard any of this stuff before, and it's really good. Also the sleeve design replicas for The Scabs (4-way fold) and The Flesh Eaters (half-fold) are really great, as well as most of the labels; I'm glad they kept this creative touch. Highly recommended!
