Kirk Degiorgio sure is a chameleon. From his early Detroitian <i>Reflections</i> to his free-jazzy <i>Planetary Folklore</i>, he's a man notorious for not sticking to a genre. And that's to his credit. <i>21st Century Soul</i> has plenty of that -- soul -- with a re-emergence of his love of Detroit. "Undefeated" sets a steady rhythm before its lovely melody comes in. "Amalia" is a lovely standing bass-driven jazz piece. As One continues to forge ahead with the quality.

Man, this is a beautifull cd. A great collection of both songs and jazzy (electronic) pieces. If Herbie Hancock was groundbreaking with "Future Shock" back in da '80s, then Kirk deGiorgio should be with this cd in the '00s. Sadly, the impact isn't the same...
