one of the best pressings i've seen/heard... very deep sound, clear and detailed, even on my cheap marantz tt5005...
-
Agree with the comments below, excellent mastering and pressing - full bodied sound, pops from the speakers, beautifully detailed soundstage.

Sounds great, flat, clean, no pops or clicks. The vocals sound bright and clear. Certainly better than previous Sylvian re-releases, which have all been a little disappointing.

I'd love to give this 5 stars but I have some issues with the flow of the album. For the most part its pretty spot on, but Sylvian almost always has 'a song or two' that I really can't stand. In this case it's the second version of World Citizen. I didn't like this song on the EP and it just comes in sounding like some cheesy 'we are the world' infomercial plea. Second is Money for All, which isn't as bad but that line about an angry elephant banging at your door just cracks me up, thus ruining the mood.
Otherwise IMO this comp works for Sylvian fans: it shows his musical and vocal talent in all the current fields he is working in. Notably, Wonderful World and Do You Know Me Know? are just amazing compositions in modern classical / jazz. And his more abstract songs like Transit and Angles show his long fascination with ambient / spoken word.
I would love to see more collabs like Sugarfuel...but we all know that won't likely happen ;( -
sticker on plastic wrap says Alternate Edition, this is all copies? I thought it was a Special Edition? like it makes any difference

Great sounding pressing. A teaser to actually have Nine Horses on vinyl.
Sadly I ordered direct from Grönland Records and their packaging was that of an amateur eBay seller.
Got 3 copes and there was no inner box, no corner protection, just tripped up cardboard shavings and an unsealed bob when it arrived. 3 Copies all have corner bends. Such a bummer.
Emailed the label 4 times now and no reply.

Nice and quiet pressing, lovely package too, sorry excuse for an ‘exclusive art print’ though: if the paper where any thinner you could read a newspaper though it.
-
Flat & dead quiet vinyl with not a mark on either of them..EQ is perfect for this style of music... Sylvian's vocals are clear as a bell.. It's just beautiful...
-
A wonderful and outstanding piece of music. Hopefully Snow borne sorrow will be reissued on vinyl as well. My copy was full of dust and fingerprints out of the shrink-wrap. Fortunately, after cleaning the records play perfectly fine.
