Mine is very nice. Barely any surface noise. Was there supposed to be an insert? It's a gatefold so I figured there would be something in the second sleeve? Mine as just empty. The centre hole is too small as well. It takes some effort to put it on/take off the turntable. Great sound, though!

Dead quiet background and virtually no surface noise out of the package. What few ticks and pops were there are minimal after a cleaning on my VPI 16.5. Its a very good pressing and sounds absolutely amazing.

Noise floor is pretty low - my amateur guess says that this was done on virgin vinyl.
But like all Kranky releases, this came with the record housed in a paper sleeve. My copy obviously came with lots of paper scuffing, and also cloudy discoloration spots on the disc. -
I can only echo the positive sentiments regarding this fantastic record. Lovely reissue and an excellent pressing with virtually no surface noise. Thanks to Kranky for reminding me just how much I love this album.

Edited 2 years agoI think I got a bum pressing. Surface noise everywhere and lots of jumping.
Edit: Gave it a soft cleaning and a respin. Much better. Very strange to have so much surface noise out of the wrap, but these things happen. Listening to the album so far and it is a lovely pressing with nice clarity and an accurate sound stage from the digital--and as with a truly great vinyl pressing, new sounds discovered in the album that you didn't catch on a digital listen. If your copy has a lot of surface noise, clean the record. Something might have happened in the supply chain. -
Cannot fault the music. Is a truly sublime album that I’ve enjoyed on CD for 20 years. The pressing does however have a number of click and pops throughout which is a shame, especially noticeable on music so quiet. Was going to see if I could get another copy, but seems to have been a pressing issue from comments here.

I cannot thank Kranky enough for repressing this gem.
My copy has some tiny clicks but the overall quality is sublime! -
Gorgeous pressing of an amazing record. Music has so much space to breathe. The very occasional bass touches are jaw dropping. Love it so much.
