These german communards called Amon Düül are very interesting if you put them in their social-cultural relation towards the actual german government in 1968/69.
Their musical ambitions found no real friends in journalists working for traditional newspapers after their appearance at the Essener Song-Tage back in 1968 after which they splitted into two fractions.
Mostly ed for the legendary german groupie Uschi Obermaier and her relationships to rockstars like Jimi Hendrix and Keith Richards their records should be regarded as musical nonsense anyway but if you want to know what counterculture really sounds like you have to give this acoustic anarcho-orgy a chance.
A mindblower to get clean and dry if you put these recordings into their right direction today. DO IT!
