This label, Constellation presses horrible sounding records. and this one is no exception. Save your money and buy the files because this sounds heavily compressed. All the instruments are blended in together in one huge and imposing bloc. There is no soundstage, no dynamics, it feels as though the music is all in your head. No feeling whatsoever. Too bad because the music is really good...

THIS NINE PIECE band from Montreal is extraordinary in presenting a sweeping sonic landscape that remarkably achieves a humanism in all the bravura of these two orchestrated musical pieces (predominantly guitars, drums and strings - in the vein of early Village Of Savoonga) "Moya" is a dynamically breathtaking interlude to field recordings of a discontented street poet chasten by society ("Blaise Bailey Finnegan III"); it is a timely social commentary that - in it's simplicity is profound. The music weaves in and around it cunningly with great effect. The last six minutes of "Blaise Bailey Finnegan III" are big, bold, gripping minutes, of pure dramatic tension brought on by it's three guitarists and two percussionists - leveling off quietly - ionately cinematic... g.y.b.e. combine all forms of media into one power din. -
wow!, confused... (as usual): is there really 4 different versions of the 1999 pressing? -
