i dont know if i just lucked out, but my copy sounds amazing! although it is not as marbled as some others i have seen so maybe that is why.

Edited 11 months agoThis Evovinyl idea while in theory is a good idea, in practice it is NOT.
This has all been confirmed by those in the know:
Mastering is done at lower volumes, more compression and narrow stereo image.
Therefore..
Add those negatives to a terrible noise floor and you now have lps that will be tossed in the trash heep due to poor sound and quality. Counterproductive and also cheating the customer from a good sounding record. Might as well stream hi-rez or buy the cd. Good idea but bad results.
If you care about records and good sound, spread the word about this being a horrible practice. -
I’ve cleaned my copy a few times and it still has a few pops and some that can be so loud. Not sure if maybe It needs a deeper cleaning but it’s not terrible…

Edited 12 months agoOf the copies I’ve heard—red Amazon, black indy and this—this is BY FAR the best pressing!!! Mine is perfectly flat and nearly silent *after a thorough cleaning. Through my system (Starling, X8, Tube Box DS3, SF Line 1, 2x Aegir, DWX Supreme, Micro3000), it is highly detailed and resolving in a very well located, 3D soundstage with PLENTY of bass!! If you’re comparing it to When We All Fall Asleep, no, it’s not as bassy, but it’s a pretty different musical style. It’s still slams plenty hard! Yes, it’s a quiet master, but with my fully balanced system and quiet cartridge I don’t have any problems cranking it and it’s very dynamic when turned up. Bass drums that hit HARD in the chest! Maybe I got lucky with my copy, maybe some people need to clean their new records better, maybe it’s my system and how it gets along with this pressing, but for me it’s 5 STARS!!! Incredible album!!

Agree with the rest of the comments. Vinyl sounds fine. Because the mastering is so low, you really need to amp up the volume on your speakers, which then makes the surface noise and any crackles and pops more prominent. The bass also lacks which is a shame since this is such a bass heavy album. It’s weird how most Happier Than Ever variants sound flawless, and even WWAFA pressings sounded decent as well, but this pressing sadly doesn’t reach their mark.

My pressing is fine, it’s nothing spectacular. For my pressing, you really need to have your speakers turned up to really hear the lyrics on this album. My pressing has some marbling, it’s opaque so I can really see the marbling effect! I think from a color perspective, THIS is the best variant if you want something colorful that matches the album aesthetic.

this one sounds SO MUCH BETTER than the coke clear variant!
audio is amazing, highly recommend getting this variant instead, wow its like she is singing in your room -
my signed insert came with 3 hearts on it which is super cuteee but i'm upset that my vinyl had almost zero marbling :/

Very poor pressing in my opinion. Side A came with a chuck of black wax stuck in a groove. Cleaned it and removed it but it’s still clicking insanely bad on that track. Side B is even more of a mess. Filled with noise and clicking and pops. If it wasn’t for it being signed, I’d sent it right on back.
