Notes
Ten-year anniversary of Carrie & Lowell with an expanded double-LP album that includes seven previously unreleased bonus tracks, a 40-page art book, and a new essay by Sufjan Stevens. The deluxe edition also offers an alternative cover: a full-framed version of the original Polaroid zoomed out to reveal the photo’s caption written in a child’s handwriting—“Carrie & Lowell”—disclosing the source of the album title (it was written by Sufjan's sister Djamilah).
The original album is preserved on one disc, while disc two contains 40 minutes of extras, including demo versions of "Death With Dignity," "Should Have Known Better," "The Only Thing," and "Eugene". Expansive outtakes of "Fourth of July" and "Wallowa Lake Monster" are also included, both featuring a more cinematic mood. The final gem is the original demo of "Mystery of Love." This song came from the original Carrie & Lowell album sessions but was later re-worked and re-recoded for Luca Guadagnino's Call Me By Your Name. The demo version here features solo guitar and voice with slightly altered lyrics.
Available exclusively from the AKR shop on unique blue and white vinyl, with each pressing featuring one-of-a-kind color variations.

Absolutely blown away, especially given what past AKR pressings have been like. I'll say that I've never had an unlistenable one, but the quality has never been that high either. Until now, and it couldn't be more appropriate that it's an anniversary pressing of Sufjan's best record to date. The album means a great deal to me personally, so to have what feels like the definitive edition of it, and for it to sound this damn good has made me the happiest bunny. Incredible.
-
giant scratch across disc 2 right from start through song 1 and into most of song 2 on side c. major bummer.
-
Only heard side C/D so far but really impressed with the quality of the packaging as well as the pressing itself. Whisper quiet which is what is needed for a record like this. Hoping A/B has similar results. Great job AKR

More confirmation this pressing sounds fantastic. Both discs are super silent, and sound wonderful!! Finally the pressing we needed!
-
This is the best I’ve heard this album sound! Beautiful pressing - dead silent vinyl, striking color, and stunning packaging. This is probably how the album should have been released originally

I’ve been critical of AKR pressings in the past but I lucked out with this cut of C&L 10th Anniversary. This sounded gorgeous through and through. The inserts and color pattern were fantastic as well. Very loving & deftly packaged record.
